Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress is well known for her work in film and on television since the mid 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of accolades like two Golden Globe Awards, and 16 NAACP Image Awards. She is known for her roles in TV and film in the 1980s, she's been awarded numerous awards such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett comes from New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. The mother of Bassett had divorced from her father at approximately five. Her younger sister then went into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. In high school, Bassett was a spectator of John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided that she wanted to become an actor. The year was 1980 and Bassett completed her studies at Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She was also awarded a degree by The Yale School of Drama. At Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American study) in the year 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett, who plays Ramonda the female lead in the action adventure film I. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
